The Children and Young People’s Empowerment Project is a charity dedicated to raising the voices of young people and giving them the confidence, influence and platform to shape their world.

Chilypep’s work is across three areas, with young people, with organisations and training and consultancy. They work with all young people in Sheffield and Barnsley South Yorkshire, in particular, the most vulnerable and excluded groups to protect and promote their wellbeing and rights. In the fifteen years as an organisation they have worked with many different groups of young people including young carers, LGBT groups and individuals, black and minority ethnic children and young people with mental health issues to create effective campaigns that champion the rights of those most affected by policies and services. They work with all young people to help them realise the power of their own voices and become empowered, active citizens.

Work supported by Act for Change Fund

This grant funds the creation of a Youth Led Social Action Studio and the employment of a Project Co-ordinator to support young people to access leadership and campaign training.
