Newport Mind logo

Newport Mind is a mental health organisation based in the city of Newport (Casnewydd) in South Wales, UK. We are part of Local Mind Associations in England and Wales.

We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Today. Now.

We work for the better mental health of people in Newport by providing a range of services. This site aims to provide more information about our organisation, our services, and how we work.

Our vision
We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect.

Our mission
We provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Work supported by Act for Change Fund

This grant supports the hiring of a Service Development Worker to work with young people to lead the #ChangeIt campaign delivering training to professionals to improve their awareness and professional practices.

Changing Minds is a collection of projects for children, young people and families at Newport Mind. We know that 1 in 10 young people experience a mental health disorder and that roughly 20% of young people will have a mental health problem in any given year.

Being young can be a challenging time and more so when you are experiencing mental health problems. The projects that form Changing Minds have been designed to give children, young people and families the opportunity to access support earlier and improve their confidence and ability to lead full and active lives.
